Tyrannosaurus Drip by Julia Donaldson and David Roberts

Do you need me to say much about the wonder that is Julia Donaldson? Well, if you insist. She is the business. Her way with words, sparks such happy story moments, not to forget big laughs, and much rereading.

In Tyrannosaurus Drip, our hero Drip is the black sheep (or is that dinosaur) of his family. See he’d rather not go hunting, but eat a plant. His family isn’t very impressed with that, so off they go. Drip decides to run away, and he finds where he belongs. What happens before, and after includes some hooting, roaring and run away dinosaur eggs.

The illustrations are wonderful, not scary (especially when you consider that there are tyrannosaurus’ in it) and fit with the story just right. It’s a romp of a read, with great repeated sayings, which is especially fun for the littles at bedtime.

On the Keiden rereading scale it scores a 4/5. On the parent rereading scale, 5/5.
