Today, I was

That mom. You know, the one you see walking along with the crying toddler.

As Keiden and I were making our way to the library he wanted to carry the book bag. Not a problem, but all he had to do was say please when asking for the bag. He refused to. So I didn't give him the bag. He carried on whining, moaning and crying all the way to the library.

It was not pleasant.

I could feel people staring. The "What is she doing?" looks, and people actually told him to stop crying 0_o. I just really, really wanted to tell them to make like a kite and fly away. That this is what happens when you're trying to teach your kid manners. That he's pushing boundaries now. I didn't say anything, just carried on.

Parenting is hard.

  1. "Parenting is hard." Oh yes...and I hate it when people stare like that, but I suppose it is part of life.

    1. *sigh* It's all part of the process, I guess. This parenting business is tricky.
