NL 2012: Amsterdam

Last Saturday we went to Amsterdam. We just walked around it on that trip as we plan on going back later to check out the museums. Most of our walking around town was directed by finding three game stores, and going to Rembrandt square. We had lunch at this great little place - Jennifer's Croissanteri - checked out a great bookstore, and discovered that the Starbucks in Amsterdam is much nicer than the one at Centraal Den Haag. The crowds in Amsterdam are awful, but the prettiest buildings I've seen have been there. Most of the photos are of the buildings.

Amsterdam Centraal, such a pretty building.

Amsterdam's old church/big church. So far it seems that wherever you go in NL there's an old/big church.

Street performance.

Random graffiti on a bin.

Houseboats.

The statue that makes Rembrandt Square Rembrandt Square.

Strange water feature.

Pretty Starbucks.
Side note: If you're going to try harring do try it in Amsterdam. In Amsterdam you get a little more onions and pickles, which makes it work. In Den Haag I say have the zalm broodjie rather than a harring one. Also the red light district is blush inducing, so when cutting through there just keep on walking face forward, and don't take any pictures. We saw someone try to take a photo, he got bashed by one of the ladies.
